Position Overview
If you're looking to move away from LTL freight, our intermodal operation offers a great opportunity with no-touch freight. As a 2nd Shift Intermodal Driver, you'll safely transport ocean containers using drop-and-hook operations while enjoying dedicated routes and daily home time.
Overtime opportunities are frequently available.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer hauling intermodal ocean containers
- Transport containers between rail yards, ports, and customer locations
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of tractors, trailers, and chassis
- Maintain accurate electronic logs using ELDs
- Report equipment concerns, accidents, or safety issues promptly
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and terminal personnel
- Comply with all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety regulations
Qualifications
Required
- Valid Class A CDL
- Clean driving record
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to safely operate in varying road and weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred
- Minimum 2 years of CDL driving experience
- Recent graduates from an accredited CDL program may also be considered
- Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
Please note: Hazmat and Tanker endorsements are highly preferred, provide additional earning opportunities, and are required within 30 days of hire.
