Commerical Electrical Superintendent

Position Details

  • License Requirement: Valid Texas Journeymen Electrician License is required
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (subject to change based on project)
  • Commercial electrical projects required

Position Purpose

The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for providing field leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with Company quality standards. This position leads field operations by coordinating personnel, resources, communication, and execution to deliver successful project outcomes while fostering a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Roles & Responsibilities

Planning & Project Execution

  • Plan, organize, schedule, and oversee electrical construction projects to ensure successful completion in accordance with project specifications, schedules, budgets, and Company expectations.
  • Estimate labor requirements, materials, equipment, and project durations while coordinating resources to maximize productivity and maintain project schedules.
  • Coordinate and direct electrical field personnel across multiple projects, ensuring crews have the information, materials, tools, and support necessary to perform work safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor project progress, labor productivity, and job costs while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and minimize delays, rework, and cost impacts.
  • Identify field issues, evaluate solutions, and coordinate corrective actions to maintain project performance.

Quality & Safety

  • Ensure electrical installations comply with contract documents, applicable codes, Company quality standards, manufacturer specifications, and customer expectations.
  • Inspect field operations and completed work to verify compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, promote a strong safety culture, and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and Company Safety Policies and Procedures.

Leadership & Workforce Development

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to field employees while promoting teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Train and develop field personnel to improve technical skills, productivity, and adherence to Company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor employee performance, attendance, productivity, workmanship, and conduct; provide coaching and documentation as needed.

Communication & Customer Relations

  • Maintain effective communication with Project Managers, customers, general contractors, inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, and other trades to support successful project execution.
  • Represent the Company professionally and maintain positive working relationships with customers, employees, and business partners.

Administration & Financial Stewardship

  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation while ensuring compliance with Company reporting requirements.
  • Audit field employee timesheets for accuracy and compliance with Company policies.
  • Work with the Director of Electrical Operations to monitor project budgets, labor productivity, and financial performance.
  • Maintain basic computer skills necessary for project management, communication, reporting, and timekeeping.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Company operations and project success.
