Summary:

The Electrical Engineer I supports the design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of electrical and electronic systems for frozen beverage equipment by contributing to hardware design, prototyping, testing, technical documentation, product improvements, and cross-functional engineering initiatives under the guidance of senior engineers and team leads.

In this hands-on technical role, you will help turn engineering principles into practical solutions for frozen beverage dispensers used around the world. This includes but is not limited to working with PCBA’s; ICD’s; Power Sources; Memory & Wire Harnesses.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Hardware Design


  • Update and support the design and validation of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), wire harnesses, and power systems to enable embedded electronic assemblies and equipment operation.
  • Complete component selection, schematic design, PCB layout, and design validation.
  • Create engineering models and detailed drawings using Fusion 360 and SolidWorks.
  • Perform technical calculations and analytical modeling.


Product Development


  • Support hardware prototype development and coordinate the fabrication and assembly.
  • Plan and execute engineering tests to validate performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze test results and prepare technical reports.
  • Support the development of proposals and upon approval, plan and execute the development of prototype parts.
  • Participate in investigations and assist in resolving field problems related to specific products.


Sustaining Engineering


  • Support product improvements and engineering changes for existing products.
  • Create and maintain Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Bills of Material (BOMs), engineering drawings, and related documentation.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and resolution of field issues.


Manufacturing Support


  • Provide technical support to manufacturing during production launches and ongoing production.
  • Work with suppliers regarding components, manufacturability, and technical issues.


Documentation


  • Maintain engineering documentation in PDM and ERP systems.
  • Contribute to engineering standards, design guidelines, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Analyze technical data and compile / summarize document findings in a comprehensive manner for review.


Other

  • Perform other duties and projects as needed and assigned by your Supervisor/Manager.


Minimum Qualifications - Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (or other similar hardware focused degree) required.
  • 0 to 2 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
  • Experience with one or more programming languages including C, C++, C#, Python, or Java; familiarity with Linux is a plus.
  • Electronic circuit analysis skills required.
  • Familiar with system design, schematic design, PCB design – Altium, OrCad, Eagle is ideal.
  • Familiar with operation and maintenance of lab equipment – DMM, power supplies, oscilloscope, electronic loads, etc. preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to accuracy and detail; ability to collaborate effectively and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug test, and a reference check.

Physical Demands:

  • Required to sit, type, have eye/hand/foot coordination, occasionally stand, walk, carry, lift, and pull.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds on occasion, but infrequent.
  • This position works in a typical office, manufacturing, and lab environment.
  • Clarity of vision including the ability to appropriately differentiate colors.
  • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
