Robert Half is partnering with a respected nonprofit organization in Oklahoma City seeking a Financial Accountant to join its accounting and finance team. This position will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting compliance requirements, overseeing accounts payable and receivable activities, assisting with budgeting and grant reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. The Financial Accountant will work closely with executive leadership to provide timely financial information and support organizational decision-making.


Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Record month-end and year-end journal entries and accounting adjustments.
  • Prepare financial statements and budget-to-actual reporting for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accuracy of general ledger activity.
  • Analyze budget variances and assist with financial forecasting and planning.
  • Develop and prepare cost allocation and financial analysis reports.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.

Budgeting, Grants & Audit Support

  • Assist with organizational budgeting and financial planning processes.
  • Prepare financial reports required for grant funding and compliance.
  • Support annual audits by preparing schedules and coordinating requested documentation.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Review invoices for accuracy, appropriate approvals, and proper coding.
  • Monitor vendor payments and resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Coordinate invoice preparation and billing activities.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and support collection efforts.

Cash Management & Compliance

  • Review, code, and record cash receipts.
  • Prepare and file annual 1099 reporting.
  • Maintain required financial records and regulatory documentation.
  • Assist with process improvements and special projects as needed.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Five or more years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Nonprofit, governmental, or fund accounting experience highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.
