Job Description
Join a Team That Solves the Gulf Coast’s Toughest HVAC Challenges

Picture your morning: you review the day’s calls, load up your meters and tools, and head out across Sarasota, Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, and nearby Gulf Coast communities. By noon, you’ve tuned a rooftop unit, identified a failing sensor on a VAV system, and walked a customer through performance recommendations. In the afternoon, you commission a new split system on a ground-up commercial site before updating your service notes and heading home, satisfied that everything runs safely and efficiently.

Our client is a well-established, growing commercial mechanical contractor with a service mix of roughly 75% commercial and 25% residential. They tackle a steady stream of new ground-up commercial construction projects and value professionalism, safety, and ongoing career development.

What You’ll Do
  • Diagnose, pinpoint, and resolve issues across commercial HVAC systems with accuracy and speed.
  • Execute preventive maintenance on RTUs, chillers, split systems, air handlers, and package units to maximize uptime.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to surface potential failures before they impact operations.
  • Handle start-up, testing, balancing, and commissioning activities on new and existing installations.
  • Keep precise service records and documentation that tell the full story of each call.
  • Communicate findings and options clearly to customers, setting expectations and building trust.
  • Work to company safety standards and comply with local codes on every task.
  • Coordinate with project managers, service coordinators, and fellow techs to deliver a great customer experience.
What You Bring
  • 4+ years in commercial HVAC service preferred, with strong diagnostic instincts.
  • Hands-on experience with RTUs, chillers, boilers, VAV systems, and controls.
  • Familiarity with HVAC controls and building automation systems (BAS) is a plus.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Self-directed work style with a high bar for professionalism and customer care.
Preferred Exposure
  • Commercial service and preventive maintenance background.
  • Brand familiarity with Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, Lennox, or comparable platforms.
Technical Strengths
  • Core HVAC knowledge and HVAC/R systems proficiency.
  • Customer-facing service and communication.
  • Commercial refrigeration systems and safe handling of refrigerants.
  • Electrical fault-finding skills and controls troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical diagnostics and component-level repair.
  • Preventive maintenance and inspection best practices.
  • Industrial automation equipment troubleshooting.
  • HVAC service, installation, maintenance, system troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Blueprint interpretation for effective planning and execution.
Tools & Technologies You’ll Use
