We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our Finished Goods Warehouse team at our tobacco production facility. This role is responsible for handling, storing, and distributing finished tobacco products with a strong emphasis on safety, accuracy, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will ensure the timely and accurate movement of materials in compliance with internal procedures and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely load, unload, move, and stack finished goods using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Accurately pick, stage, and prepare outbound shipments according to orders, shipping schedules, and customer specifications.
  • Perform incoming and outgoing product inspections to verify quality, quantity, and condition.
  • Label, wrap, and palletize finished goods for storage or shipment.
  • Maintain real-time inventory accuracy by recording all movements in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Conduct cycle counts, physical inventory checks, and participate in inventory reconciliation as needed.
  • Ensure warehouse and storage areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety and tobacco industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with production and sales teams to meet shipping and receiving deadlines.
  • Report discrepancies, damages, or unsafe conditions to supervision immediately.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and compliance protocols including GMPs, FDA, OSHA, and company-specific guidelines.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ year of warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling experience; experience in tobacco or manufacturing a plus.
  • Valid forklift certification or ability to become certified.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and handheld RF scanners.
  • Ability to lift 50-60 lbs. with sufficient mobility to perform physical tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts, including overtime as needed.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to tobacco dust and industrial warehouse conditions.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
  • This position may require standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
