Medical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced ***Patient Service Coordinator***.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience required working in an administrative role in a medical office.
This is a FT (24-32 hours on average a week) long term temporary position working any hours between 7:30am - 5:00pm for a total of 8.5 hours a day (example of schedules: 7:30a to 4p, 8a to 4:30p, 8:30a to 5p). Must be flexible this role will be to fill in to accommodate callouts, vacations, and operational needs. Must be able to travel between Hampton and Newport News offices.
Responsibilities:
A Day in the life of a Patient Service Coordinator:
As a Patient Service Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the efficient coordination of front-office operations. This role is responsible for scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, managing patient records, and facilitating communication between patients, providers, and clinical staff. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering a positive patient experience.
Job Duties:
- Greeting patients in a professional, friendly, and compassionate manner
- Patient check in and check out
- Co-pay collection
- Answering the phones
- Verify demographics, coverage, and eligibility
- Register new patients
- Obtain and scan required documentation to include medical insurance cards and identification
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Assist providers and clinic staff with administrative support
Requirements for the Patient Service Coordinator:
- Required: 6 months of medical office/administrative experience
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Required: Proficiency in EHR systems
- Required: Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Required: Ability to pass Background Check and Drug Screen
- Required: Must be reliable and a quick learner and have ability to multi-task with accuracy in a very busy environment
- Required: Ability to work at two different locations
Preferred Qualifications for the Patient Service Coordinator:
- Preferred: AS in Healthcare Administration
- Preferred: Medical scheduling and insurance verification experience
- Preferred: Medical terminology and healthcare regulations
