Schedule

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electroencephalography (EEG) Technologist to join a hospital-based neurodiagnostic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality EEG studies, preparing patients for procedures, operating EEG equipment, and accurately documenting findings while delivering exceptional patient care in an acute care environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for electroencephalography (EEG) examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort.
  • Apply EEG electrodes accurately according to established protocols and technical standards.
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot EEG equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic recordings.
  • Monitor and identify EEG tracings during examinations and recognize significant findings for physician review.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout all testing procedures.
  • Follow hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and quality assurance standards.
  • Prepare and maintain EEG equipment and supplies to ensure operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with neurologists, physicians, nurses, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to support quality patient care.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Required Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent recognized by a State Department of Education or accredited organization required.
  • OR Completion of an ABRET-recognized EEG training program.
  • OR Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited EEG program (may substitute for one year of required experience).
Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of recent EEG Technologist experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Acute care or hospital-based neurodiagnostic experience preferred.
Required Licensure & Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

Additional Information
