Type: Full-Time, 2nd Shift (Generally 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM; but flexible)

Compensation: $29.00 – $35.00/hour
About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join its maintenance team supporting a busy heavy manufacturing operation in Redford, Michigan. This is a hands-on opportunity for a skilled industrial maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex mechanical systems, minimizing equipment downtime, and keeping production running efficiently.
This position focuses heavily on diagnosing and repairing industrial production equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting continuous manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has strong experience with mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and industrial troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do
%CF; Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical failures on industrial production equipment
%CF; Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime
%CF; Repair and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems throughout the facility
%CF; Perform welding repairs and fabrication as needed to support production equipment
%CF; Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic issues associated with production machinery
%CF; Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to reduce recurring breakdowns
%CF; Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, manipulators, and other material handling equipment as required
%CF; Partner with production personnel and supervisors to prioritize repairs and maintain production schedules
%CF; Follow all plant safety procedures and properly utilize required PPE
%CF; Support installation, repair, and maintenance of machinery, tools, and heavy facility equipment
What You Bring
%CF; 3–5+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
%CF; Experience with forging equipment, heavy presses, or similar manufacturing equipment is a huge plus
%CF; Strong hands-on mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience
%CF; Advanced knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
%CF; Welding experience preferred
%CF; Electrical troubleshooting experience required
%CF; Ability to diagnose equipment failures and perform effective repairs with minimal supervision
%CF; Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial equipment
%CF; Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
%CF; Experience working safely in a heavy industrial or manufacturing setting
%CF; High school diploma or equivalent work experience
%CF; Strong communication skills and a dependable, team-oriented work ethic
