Overview
CTG has a W2 contract assignment for an experienced Buyer III to support procurement operations for a leading Fortune 500 manufacturer. This hands-on role is responsible for sourcing materials, equipment, and services while ensuring on-time delivery, cost optimization, supplier performance, and inventory management.
The ideal candidate has strong SAP purchasing experience, a manufacturing background, and proven success working with suppliers and cross-functional teams.

Pay Rate: $22.01/hour-$28.37/hr (DOE)
Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Education: Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred (technical field preferred but not required)
This position is located in an ITAR-compliant facility. U.S. Citizenship is required to meet ITAR and Department of Defense compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Purchase materials, equipment, and services to support manufacturing operations
- Create and manage purchase orders using SAP and MRP systems
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring performance and quality
- Manage inventory levels and reduce excess or obsolete materials
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to resolve purchasing issues
- Support sourcing initiatives, cost reduction projects, and process improvements
- Resolve supplier invoicing issues and ensure timely payment processing
- Maintain purchasing documentation, contracts, NDAs, pricing agreements, and certificates
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, environmental regulations, and audit requirements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a plant or corporate Buyer
- Experience placing purchase orders in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of MRP systems and purchasing processes
- Hands-on SAP purchasing experience required
- Experience negotiating supplier pricing and contracts
- Strong supplier relationship management skills
- Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, planning, quality, or supply chain organizations
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with Global Supply Management (GSM) processes
- Experience supporting global manufacturing operations
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification
- CPM, CPSM, APICS, or other Supply Chain certification
