About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forklift Mechanic to join our world-class aerospace manufacturing facility. This critical position requires a dedicated professional who will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and optimizing our extensive fleet of material handling equipment. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will ensure that all forklift operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently to support our precision aerospace manufacturing operations.

Our facility operates state-of-the-art equipment essential to maintaining our position as an industry leader in aerospace manufacturing. The successful candidate will work with hydraulic, electric, and combustion-powered forklifts, ensuring maximum uptime and operational excellence in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.

Primary ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Repair
  • Perform comprehensive preventive maintenance on all types of forklifts including hydraulic, electric, and combustion engine models according to manufacturer specifications and company schedules
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems using advanced diagnostic equipment and technical expertise
  • Execute complex repairs on hydraulic systems including pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, and fittings
  • Troubleshoot and repair electric forklift systems including batteries, motors, controllers, and charging systems
  • Service and repair combustion engines (propane, diesel, and gasoline) including fuel systems, ignition systems, and emission controls
  • Key Responsibilities
    • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on a wide range of complex aerospace manufacturing equipment and systems
    • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in manufacturing machinery and equipment
    • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and systems to identify potential problems and implement proactive maintenance measures
    • Install, modify, and upgrade manufacturing equipment and systems as per engineering specifications and industry standards
    • Maintain detailed maintenance logs, repair records, and documentation for all equipment and systems
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency
    • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
    • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls and minimize production downtime
    • Train and mentor junior maintenance technicians on best practices and safety procedures
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes and procedures
    Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in mechanical, electrical, or related field preferred
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic in aerospace manufacturing or related industry
    • Proven expertise in equipment maintenance, hydraulics, and electrical systems
    • Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical principles
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
    • Familiarity with predictive and preventive maintenance techniques
    • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards in manufacturing environments
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
