Job Title: Registered Nurse – Med Surg/Telemetry (Neuro Tele)
Location: Lubbock, TX
Type: Contract
Shift & Schedule: Night Shift | 3 x 12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 6 Weekend Shifts per 6-Week Schedule
Pay Rate:
Local: $43.00 - $49.00/hr
Traveler: $1,400.00 - $1,770.00/week (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry to provide high-quality nursing care for Neuro Tele patients in a fast-paced acute care hospital. The ideal candidate will have strong telemetry experience, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to care for patients with complex medical and neurological conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for Med Surg/Telemetry patients.

  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and neurological status, identifying and responding promptly to changes in patient condition.

  • Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.

  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and coordinate patient care plans.

  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge planning.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

  • Float to appropriate units as needed to support patient care and departmental staffing.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg/Telemetry nursing experience.

  • Neuro Telemetry experience required.

  • First-time travelers accepted.

  • Ability to care for up to a 1:4 patient ratio.

  • Willingness to float between units as required.

  • Ability to work night shifts, including 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Level II Trauma Center.

  • Strong telemetry interpretation and acute care nursing skills.

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking abilities.
