What You'll DoAs a Transportation Driver, you will safely transport residents to medical appointments, therapy visits, community outings, and facility-sponsored events while ensuring every ride is comfortable, secure, and enjoyable.
Responsibilities Include:Safely transport residents to and from physician appointments, treatments, and other scheduled destinations.
Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle, including those using wheelchairs and other mobility devices.
Ensure all passengers are safely secured with seat belts and wheelchair restraints before travel.
Provide courteous, compassionate customer service while building positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
Maintain emergency medical information and ensure the vehicle is stocked with a fully supplied first aid kit.
Perform routine vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, safe, and ready for daily use.
Coordinate preventive maintenance and promptly report mechanical concerns or safety issues.
Maintain accurate transportation logs, mileage, fuel usage, and required documentation.
Transport medical equipment, supplies, documents, and laboratory specimens as needed.
Assist with resident transfers and mobility while following proper safety procedures.
Support recreational and community activities by providing transportation for resident outings and events.
Work closely with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to ensure residents receive timely, safe transportation.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required)
CPR/BLS Certification or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
Previous experience in healthcare, senior living, rehabilitation, patient transportation, or a related field is preferred
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Compassionate, dependable, and committed to resident safety
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a healthcare team
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation
This is an active role that requires:
Standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting residents throughout the day
Safely assisting with resident transfers and mobility
Frequently lifting or moving up to 50 pounds
Working in a healthcare environment where exposure to infectious diseases may occur
