Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Benefits Specialist to join our Human Resources team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing and administering employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with employment and labor laws, and providing exceptional support to employees regarding their benefits options. Your expertise in benefits administration, HRIS systems, and regulatory reporting will help foster a positive employee experience and uphold our commitment to employee well-being. Duties

  • Administer comprehensive employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act), workers' compensation, and other fringe benefits
  • Utilize HRIS platforms such as Workday, Oracle HCM, SAP SuccessFactors, or UltiPro to process enrollments, updates, and terminations efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, HIPAA regulations, and company policies through accurate data collection and regulatory reporting
  • Collaborate with insurance providers and vendors to negotiate plan options and resolve benefit-related issues
  • Conduct employee orientation sessions on benefits offerings, policies, and procedures to promote understanding and engagement
  • Manage day-to-day benefits administration tasks within systems like ADP, Paylocity, Lawson, or Ceridian
  • Support employee relations by addressing benefit inquiries promptly and providing clear communication on benefit changes or updates

Experience

  • Proven experience in benefits administration within a human resources environment
  • Strong knowledge of employment & labor law, HIPAA regulations, and compliance requirements related to employee benefits
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS systems such as Workday, Oracle HCM, SAP SuccessFactors, or UltiPro; familiarity with payroll systems is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability in data analysis skills for benefits reporting and compliance purposes
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively explain complex benefit plans and legal requirements to employees at all levels
  • Experience negotiating with vendors or insurance providers to optimize benefit offerings
  • Familiarity with additional HR functions such as recruiting, training & development, employee evaluation, and employee relations is advantageous
