Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for an Industrial Maintenance Technician role in Portland, OR. Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on extruders, injection molding presses, boiler and steam systems, pumps, motors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and facility equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues by reading blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and control diagrams.
  • Perform mold cleaning, mold changes, and machine changeovers.
  • Repair and install machinery components using stick and wire-feed welding techniques.
  • Complete visual, mechanical, and safety inspections on production equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other industrial equipment safely.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
  • Assist with electrical troubleshooting and repairs involving 5V, 24V, 110V, 240V, and 480V systems, including AC and DC drives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop.
  • Source replacement parts and maintenance supplies as needed.
  • Perform daily plant start-up procedures.
  • Collaborate with production teams to support safe and efficient manufacturing operations.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance or millwright experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and industrial troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, electrical schematics, and control diagrams.
  • Experience with stick welding, wire-feed welding, fabrication, acetylene torch work, and basic plumbing.
  • Thorough understanding of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safe maintenance practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
  • Must be dependable, self-motivated, and flexible to support early morning plant start-ups and emergency maintenance needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
