Sales & Customer Service Representative
Position Summary
The Sales & Customer Service Representative manages customer relationships, supports assigned and house accounts, develops new sales opportunities, and coordinates printing projects from the initial inquiry through delivery.
Key Responsibilities
%CF; Respond to customer calls, emails, quote requests, and order questions.
%CF; Gather complete job specifications, including quantity, paper, color, finishing, mailing, delivery, and deadlines.
%CF; Enter accurate estimates, orders, customer information, and job instructions.
%CF; Coordinate with estimating, prepress, production, mailing, shipping, and accounting.
%CF; Communicate proofs, approvals, schedules, changes, and delivery information.
%CF; Manage assigned and house accounts while identifying additional sales opportunities.
%CF; Contact prospective customers and help develop new business.
%CF; Follow up on open estimates and maintain accurate sales and customer records.
%CF; Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
%CF; Meet expectations for responsiveness, accuracy, sales growth, customer retention, and profitability.
Qualifications and Compensation
%CF; Minimum of 2–3 years of customer service, account management, inside sales, or related experience required.
%CF; Previous commercial printing, publishing, mailing, or manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
%CF; Experience with PrintSmith Vision or similar print-management software is highly desirable.
%CF; Knowledge of estimating, paper, finishing, mailing, prepress, and printing production is beneficial.
%CF; Strong communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
%CF; Ability to manage multiple customers, orders, and deadlines.
%CF; Comfortable making outbound sales calls and developing new business.
%CF; Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, CRM, and order-entry systems.
%CF; Starting compensation is $21.00 and will be based on relevant experience. Candidates with commercial printing experience, PrintSmith proficiency, an established sales record, or an existing customer base may qualify for a higher starting rate.
Position Requirements
The employee may not promise unconfirmed delivery dates, change approved pricing, offer unauthorized discounts, or approve refunds, credits, or reruns without management authorization. This is a full-time position requiring regular interaction with customers and production departments. Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. This is not a remote position. The recommended classification is hourly, non-exempt.
