Role snapshot — Du Quoin, IL

Lead day-to-day operations for one or more major manufacturing cells producing low- and medium-voltage power cables. You will ensure people, materials, methods, and machines come together safely and efficiently to meet plan, quality standards, and cost targets.

What you’ll own
  • Shift planning using up-to-date process and equipment knowledge to hit output and quality goals.
  • Readiness: confirm raw materials, instructions, equipment availability, and operator training.
  • Safety and performance oversight; hold team members accountable to procedures that reduce waste and scrap.
  • Coaching and evaluation of individual performance; recommend improvements.
  • Accurate recordkeeping: attendance, absences, call-ins, overtime; approve time in ADP.
  • First-step grievance handling in line with established policy.
  • Lean execution using PG1OPS tools—6S, Visual Management, RTFT, and Tier Communication.
  • Maintenance coordination to protect uptime and continuous flow.
  • Other related duties as reasonably assigned.
Who you’ll lead and partner with

Direct supervision of hourly union associates; close collaboration with maintenance, quality, materials, and other plant teams.

  • Business acumen and a change-agent mindset focused on bottom-line impact.
Preferred profile
  • 4+ years in a manufacturing setting.
  • 1–3 years supervising a large manufacturing team (highly preferred).
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
