The duties will be accomplished as described in accordance with DoD and DON logistic procedures, standard operating procedures, and applicable local regulatory requirements. Duties and Responsibilities:Routes materials to prescribed storage locationsVerifies incoming materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents; notes and reports discrepancies and obvious damagesStores, stacks, or palletizes materials in accordance with prescribed storage methodsTakes inventory of stored materials and re-warehouses as directedInspects stored materials, and reports deterioration and damageIssues part to the applicable tradesman and transfers materials to replenish truck stockRemoves material from storage and prepares it for shipmentAssists with inventory of received/stored material to identify discrepancies as directedProvides back-up support to the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager in their absenceOperates company-owned motor vehicles and/or other equipment on a daily basis; operates hand or power trucks in performing warehouse dutiesAssists with file maintenance, workspace cleanup, and maintain warehouse space and assists at the Family Self Help StoreSupports other department staff as needed or directedAssists other trades in daily operations where requiredAdheres to established company safety, personnel policies and standard operating proceduresPerforms other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Limited knowledge of hand and power toolsAbility to interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situationsAbility to perform duties in a timely, accurate and cost-effective mannerAbility to work closely and harmoniously with other employeesAbility to work independently without continuous supervisionAbility to pass a random DOT drug test if required Minimum Requirements:High school graduate or equivalentTwo (2) years experience with material packaging, record filing and/or property inventoryKnowledge of inventory management systems, such as MINCOM, SAP or MaximoKnowledge in the use of computer programs such as Microsoft Word and ExcelMust possess a valid AB Driver's LicenseMust be able to obtain and maintain a forklift operator's licenseAbility to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Preferred Qualifications:Construction and/or maintenance knowledgeKnowledge and experience in the use and operations of forklift, delivery truck and other material handling equipment Work Conditions:Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoor work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear to understand instructions, provide information and respond to safety warnings. Work conditions require the employee to stand; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; smell; and work on scaffolding and ladders. The employee may frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance and lift and/or move heavier objects with assistance.
