We are seeking a Human Resources Payroll Manager to lead and oversee multi-jurisdictional payroll operations across the United States (including Ohio and Minnesota) and Canada. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with all federal, state/provincial, and local regulations.
This individual will serve as a key resource to employees and leadership, combining technical payroll expertise with a strong customer service mindset and commitment to confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. and Canadian employees (multi-state and multi-province)
- Ensure compliance with all applicable payroll laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements
- Calculate and validate payroll tax withholdings (federal, state, local, and provincial)
- Process payroll changes including new hires, terminations, compensation updates, and classifications
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, including timesheets, deductions, and pay adjustments
- Prepare, audit, and distribute payroll reports in a timely manner
- Maintain payroll systems, records, and data integrity
- Respond to employee inquiries related to pay, deductions, and timekeeping
- Partner with Benefits on 401(k) administration and related reconciliations
- Track and coordinate employee leave in compliance with regional regulations
- Monitor payroll-related financial data and ensure accurate reporting
- Support and guide payroll staff as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state and/or international payroll
- Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll laws (including Ohio and Minnesota) and Canadian payroll regulations
- Experience managing payroll compliance, tax withholdings, and reporting requirements
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Technical Skills
- Experience with payroll systems such as Dayforce (or similar platforms)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools
- Solid understanding of accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll reconciliation practices
- Strong data entry and recordkeeping capabilities

Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the SVP / Chief People Officer (CPO).
