Litigation Paralegal – Insurance Defense

A respected and growing insurance defense law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys handling a diverse defense litigation practice. Unlike many defense firms, this position offers a highly manageable billable expectation of approximately 95 hours per month, allowing paralegals to focus on producing quality work rather than chasing excessive billable requirements.
What You'll Do
- Manage litigation files from inception through trial
- Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery responses, subpoenas, and correspondence
- Coordinate and manage document production, medical records, and case files
- Schedule and assist with depositions, mediations, hearings, and expert coordination
- Maintain case calendars and monitor litigation deadlines
- Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, and witness materials
- Communicate regularly with attorneys, clients, experts, and opposing counsel
- Assist with legal research and case preparation as needed
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably within insurance defense or civil litigation
- Strong understanding of the litigation process from filing through trial
- Experience managing deadlines and handling multiple active cases simultaneously
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with attorneys and support staff
- Proficiency with e-filing in Georgia state and federal courts
- Experience with litigation management software and Microsoft Office Suite
