  • Job Description: The client is seeking a Containerization SME / Cloud Engineer to lead container deployment strategy, develop repeatable deployment standards, and serve as a subject matter expert supporting mission-critical programs in a cleared, on-premises cloud environment. Job Summary Own the containerization deployment strategy and drive the design and adoption of container solutions across the organization. Evaluate container deployment tools and technologies to identify best-fit approaches for the team's environment. Build and prototype deployment solutions, moving concepts from research to working implementations. Package, install, and deploy containerized capabilities to program systems using Kubernetes and related tooling. Integrate containerized components within existing Kubernetes orchestration environments, including legacy application migrations. Develop standards, define best practices, and create repeatable deployment workflows for production programs to follow. Troubleshoot container and cluster issues, diagnosing crashing or misbehaving workloads across the Kubernetes environment. Minimum Requirements: Active or interim Secret security clearance (required prior to start). 10 years of related experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline with equivalent experience. Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, including deploying workloads, managing cluster environments, and troubleshooting deployments. Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, or K3s. Hands-on experience with Helm for packaging, versioning, and managing Kubernetes applications. Proficiency in Bash and/or Python scripting. Solid Linux development, integration, and troubleshooting experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with C and/or Java software development (C strongly preferred). Experience working in a PaaS or on-premises private cloud environment outside of standard public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Oracle, etc.). Background in DevSecOps principles and Agile methodologies. Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to articulate individual contributions and operate as a recognized SME within a team environment.
