The Internal Advisor is responsible for coordinating and managing the used vehicle
reconditioning process from acquisition through frontline readiness. This role works closely with
the Service, Parts, Sales, and Detail departments to ensure vehicles are repaired efficiently, cost-
effectively, and within established timelines. The Internal Advisor plays a key role in delivering
high-quality inventory that is ready for sale.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and manage repair orders for all used vehicle reconditioning.
- Monitor and update vehicle status throughout the reconditioning process using Rapid
- Recon.
- Coordinate the used vehicle reconditioning timeline to ensure timely completion.
- Review repair estimates and collaborate with the Parts, Service, and Sales Managers to
- obtain approvals.
- Communicate with technicians, parts personnel, and detail staff to prioritize workflow
- and minimize delays.
- Coordinate with the Detail Department to ensure vehicles are cleaned and prepared
- efficiently.
- Inspect completed repairs and verify vehicles meet dealership quality standards.
- Notify the Sales Manager when vehicles are complete and ready for frontline display.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of repair orders, approvals, and vehicle
- status.
- Identify and communicate any delays or issues that could impact vehicle availability.
- Promote teamwork and effective communication across all dealership departments.
- Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous automotive dealership experience preferred.
- Experience with Rapid Recon or dealership management software is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple vehicles and deadlines simultaneously.
- Basic knowledge of automotive repair and reconditioning processes.
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office applications.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk throughout the dealership and service department.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
