Position Summary

The Patient Service Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients calling or arriving at the clinic. This position is responsible for greeting and checking in patients, obtaining and updating patient information, collecting payments, assisting with required paperwork, scheduling appointments, and providing exceptional customer service while supporting the daily operations of the clinic.


Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner.
  • Register new patients and update existing patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Schedule and reschedule patient appointments, including initial visits and follow-up appointments.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and obtain required patient documentation.
  • Answer patient questions regarding billing, payments, and office procedures, and collect patient payments.
  • Answer incoming calls and route them to the appropriate department when necessary.
  • Accept and process patient lab drop-offs.
  • Assist patients with completing required forms and documentation.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA requirements.
  • Perform other administrative and customer service duties as assigned. The Patient Service Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients calling or arriving at the clinic. Requirements:

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in front office or similar role preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience using an Electronic Medical Record system as well as foundational computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and the Internet. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.
  • Ability to learn and follow HIPAA requirements and respect patient privacy rights
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
