The Goddard School® located at: 1035 Middletown Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036, is seeking a dependable, caring, and enthusiastic Part-Time Assistant Teacher to join our welcoming school community.

Available Shifts
Candidates may be available for either shift:
  • Afternoons: 2:00–5:30 p.m.
  • Mornings: 7:00–9:00 a.m.
This position is especially well suited for a college student with morning or afternoon/early-evening availability who is interested in gaining hands-on experience working with young children.

What You’ll Do
As an Assistant Teacher, you will work alongside our experienced teachers to:
  • Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through positive interactions and active engagement
  • Assist with age-appropriate classroom activities, transitions, and daily routines
  • Help children feel safe, supported, and included
  • Supervise children and provide individualized care and encouragement
  • Prepare classroom materials and maintain a clean, safe, and inviting learning environment
  • Support meals, toileting, diapering, rest periods, and other daily care routines as needed
  • Assist with communicating important information about children’s daily activities
  • Follow all health, safety, licensing, and school procedures
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required
  • Interest in or aspiration toward working with children
  • Previous experience with children is helpful but not required
  • College coursework in education, early childhood education, psychology, social work, or a related field is a plus
  • Caring, patient, dependable, and able to work collaboratively
  • Willingness to learn about child development and developmentally appropriate practices
  • Ability to work productively with guidance and independently when appropriate
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in connection with the care and supervision of children
  • Ability to pass all required state background checks and meet applicable state requirements
