THE ROLE
Win is looking for a dependable and hands-on Porter/Van Driver to help maintain safe, clean, and welcoming environments for families experiencing homelessness. In this dual-role position, you will provide transportation support for clients and staff while ensuring that shelter facilities, grounds, and common areas are maintained to the highest standards. Your work will play an essential role in supporting daily operations and enhancing the experience of residents, staff, and visitors.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Safely transport clients, staff, and materials using Win vehicles while following all traffic and safety regulations
- Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of shelter interiors, common areas, offices, and exterior grounds
- Monitor vehicle condition, perform routine vehicle checks, and promptly report maintenance issues, accidents, or infractions
- Manage trash removal, compactor operations, and general upkeep to maintain a clean and sanitary environment
- Assist with building maintenance, including painting, spackling, minor plumbing repairs, and basic carpentry tasks
- Complete unit inspections and perform seasonal maintenance, including snow and ice removal and equipment upkeep
- Repair or replace door locks, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, furniture, appliances, and other facility equipment as needed
- Support resident move-ins and move-outs while providing excellent customer service and maintaining a safe environment
WHO YOU WILL BE
- You will maintain a valid driver's license and possess a strong safety mindset when operating passenger vehicles
- You will have experience performing custodial, maintenance, facilities, or building operations work
- You will be comfortable using cleaning equipment, maintenance tools, and approved cleaning chemicals
- You will possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to complete repairs and maintenance tasks independently
- You will have the ability to interact respectfully and effectively with residents, visitors, and staff from diverse backgrounds
- You will be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, and perform physically demanding work throughout the day
