Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney

A highly respected national law firm is seeking a Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney to join its Denver office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing innovative companies and emerging technologies clients in sophisticated patent prosecution matters.

• 2–4 years of patent prosecution experience gained at a sophisticated law firm

• Experience preparing, filing, and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications

• Technical background in electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or a closely related field

• Experience drafting patent applications related to software, electronics, semiconductors, telecommunications, artificial intelligence, computer architecture, or other advanced technologies is preferred

• Experience conducting patentability analyses, responding to Office Actions, and developing patent portfolio strategies

• Experience managing domestic and international patent portfolios is a plus

• Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required or expected

• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills

• Ability to work directly with inventors, in-house counsel, and business stakeholders

• Excellent academic credentials

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required

• Colorado bar admission required or ability to become admitted
