Industrial Lift Truck Service Technician
Job Description
You start your morning reviewing new service calls, then head out to diagnose lift truck breakdowns at customer sites. Your goal is simple: get equipment back in action quickly and safely while minimizing downtime. You assess issues, create on-the-spot estimates for on-site repairs, and set clear expectations with the customer before you begin.
Back at your mobile workspace, you might run a lathe, drill press, or grinder to fabricate or repair a part. You perform scheduled maintenance routines—conducting thorough inspections, replacing worn or defective components, lubricating moving parts, and addressing electrical repairs—to keep fleets reliable. You compare used parts against factory specifications to identify wear patterns or spec changes, ensuring your repairs meet standard.
Throughout the day, you communicate findings and next steps with customers, walk them through maintenance outcomes, and flag potential issues before they become problems. You also quote field services as needed and explain the scope of work clearly.
