Powder Coat Supervisor
Gibraltar is seeking an experienced Powder Coat Supervisor to lead our powder coating operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily production activities, driving quality and efficiency, developing employees, and ensuring a safe work environment.

What You'll DoLead and Develop Your Team- Supervise Powder Coat Technicians and department personnel.
- Train, coach, and mentor employees to support performance and professional growth.
- Manage attendance, scheduling, and employee performance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate daily department activities to meet production schedules and customer demands.
- Monitor workflow and staffing to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Partner with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Shipping teams to maintain smooth operations.
- Ensure adequate staffing coverage for production requirements, including overtime as needed.
- Ensure all finished products meet company and customer quality requirements.
- Monitor coating thickness, finish quality, adhesion, and curing processes.
- Investigate quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Reduce scrap, rework, and coating defects through proactive process management.
- Enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct routine safety observations and address hazards promptly.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with environmental standards.
- Participate in incident investigations and continuous safety improvement efforts.
- Oversee powder coat booths, curing ovens, pretreatment systems, and material handling equipment.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance activities with the Maintenance team.
- Monitor powder usage, inventory levels, and department supplies.
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase quality, throughput, and efficiency.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3- 5+ years of powder coating experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Experience managing production schedules and employee performance.
- Strong understanding of powder coating equipment, processes, and troubleshooting.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards and inspection methods.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and chemicals.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
