Summary
This Project Manager role supports a major airport capital improvement program within the Greater Los Angeles County area. The position focuses on managing scope, schedule, budget, and stakeholder coordination within a progressive design-build delivery environment, ensuring all design and construction activities align with project objectives, operational constraints, and regulatory requirements.

This role works closely with design-build teams, contractors, engineers, and multiple stakeholders to coordinate activities across both design and construction phases. The position is ideal for candidates with public works or infrastructure experience who are comfortable operating in active environments and managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects from preconstruction through closeout.


Key Responsibilities
• Assist in managing scope, schedule, and budget across all phases of design and construction
• Support progressive design-build delivery including GMP development, trade procurement, and buyout
• Coordinate withagency, design teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment
• Monitor design progression including plan reviews, design changes, and resolution of technical issues
• Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and project requirements
• Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and field reports
• Track project performance, identify risks, and support mitigation strategies to maintain schedule and budget
• Participate in stakeholder meetings, OAC coordination, and reporting to senior leadership
• Support permitting, testing & commissioning, and project closeout processes
• Assist in reviewing pay applications and verifying completed work


Qualifications
• 8–10+ years of experience in construction/project management on public works or large infrastructure projects
• Experience with design-build or progressive design-build project delivery strongly preferred
• Proven ability to manage projects valued at $40M+
• Strong understanding of construction and design lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout
• Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders including owners, agencies, contractors, and design teams
• Familiarity with contract management, procurement, and construction methodologies
• Ability to operate in active environments (aviation, transportation, or public facilities)


Certifications & Technical Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
• DBIA certification strongly preferred (or similar design-build experience)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
• Experience with project management / project controls software (Primavera P6 or similar preferred)
