Assistant Director of Admissions
THRYVE of Crestwood is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Assistant Director of Admissions to join our team in Crestwood, Illinois. This role supports the Director of Admissions in managing the referral and admissions process while ensuring a smooth transition for residents entering the facility. The Assistant Director of Admissions works closely with hospitals, case managers, physicians, families, and the interdisciplinary team to help achieve occupancy goals and provide an exceptional admission experience.
Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Admissions in managing the facility's referral and admissions process.
Respond promptly to referrals from hospitals, physicians, assisted living communities, and other healthcare providers.
Coordinate admission approvals with clinical and administrative leadership.
Communicate with referral sources, residents, and families throughout the admissions process.
Conduct facility tours for prospective residents and families.
Verify insurance benefits and obtain required documentation prior to admission.
Coordinate admission logistics with nursing, social services, therapy, dietary, and other departments to ensure a seamless transition.
Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, case managers, discharge planners, physicians, and community partners.
Participate in networking events, community outreach, and marketing initiatives to promote the facility.
Maintain accurate referral, admission, and census records using facility systems.
Assist with tracking admissions metrics, referral activity, and occupancy reports.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company policies regarding admissions.
Provide excellent customer service while addressing questions and concerns from residents and families.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions or Administrator.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Marketing, Business, or a related field is preferred.
Previous experience in admissions, business development, marketing, customer service, or healthcare is preferred.
Skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care (LTC) experience is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and private insurance is preferred.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to manage multiple referrals and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems; PointClickCare experience is a plus.
Professional, positive, and customer-focused demeanor.
Reliable transportation and the ability to travel locally for referral development and community events, as needed.
