Smithville, OH | Hourly Pay—Not Flat Rate | Up to $80,000 Annually


Tired of losing pay when the schedule slows down or a difficult diagnostic job takes longer than expected? AutoShop Recruiting is partnering with an established Smithville repair shop seeking an experienced Automotive Diagnostic Technician for a full-time, hourly position.

What You’ll Do

  • Diagnose complex electrical, drivability, and network communication problems
  • Test CAN, powertrain, body-control, and related vehicle networks beyond basic OBD-II code retrieval
  • Perform engine, timing, cylinder-head, transmission, and advanced mechanical repairs
  • Work primarily on domestic vehicles and trucks, including Ford, Chevrolet, and Chrysler
  • Complete digital vehicle inspections using Tekmetric
  • Mentor developing technicians and help improve shop productivity
  • Take challenging repairs from diagnosis through completion

  • Motivated, Energetic Leader - Willing to Grow the Shop & Team!
  • Advanced automotive diagnostic and mechanical repair experience
  • Knowledge of modern vehicle electronics and network systems
  • Strong domestic and light-duty truck experience
  • Professional hand tools
  • Ability to work independently without bringing an ego into the shop
  • ASE certifications preferred, but proven ability matters most
  • Ability to meet applicable pre-employment requirements
