Front Counter Associate – Bakery

Location: Ardmore, PA
Pay Rate: $14.00-$15.00/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Part-Time | AM & PM Shifts Available
Availability: Open availability required, including weekends
Type: Temp-to-Hire

This position offers the opportunity for growth, with 30/60/90-day performance evaluations and potential pay increases based on performance, attendance, and overall success in the role.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers with a friendly and positive attitude.
• Take customer orders accurately in person and over the phone.
• Answer questions about bakery items, ingredients, and daily specials.
• Package baked goods and prepare customer orders for pickup.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and process cash and credit card transactions.
• Restock bakery displays, beverages, and retail merchandise as needed.
• Keep display cases and front counter areas clean, organized, and visually appealing.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the customer service area.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company policies.
• Work closely with bakers, cake decorators, and other team members to ensure a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous customer service, retail, restaurant, café, or bakery experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable operating a point-of-sale (POS) system and handling cash transactions.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Must have open availability to work AM or PM shifts, including weekends.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently bend, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced bakery environment.
