We are seeking experienced Community Engagement Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who are passionate about working with individuals with disabilities in a community-based setting, attending events, and fostering personal growth and social interactions within our local community. We have openings for 2nd shift positions (2pm-9pm). Candidates must pass initial testing, including background checks and drug screenings. Strong documentation skills are required. As a Community Engagement DSP, you will:

  • Support individuals during community outings, activities, volunteer opportunities, and recreational events
  • Assist individuals with daily living skills, including communication, decision-making, money handling, and social skills
  • Follow each individual’s Person-Centered Plan, ISP goals, and behavior support strategies
  • Promote independence while ensuring health, safety, and dignity at all times
  • Provide
    transportation support using personal vehicle, provide proof of full coverage insurance.
  • Assist with medication administration if certified (or willingness to obtain certification)
  • Document services accurately and timely in accordance with DBHDS regulations
  • Maintain professional boundaries and respectful interactions with individuals, families, and community partners
  • Communicate concerns, progress, or incidents promptly to supervisors
  • Participate in required trainings and follow all agency policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (required)
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass background checks and required screenings
  • Experience supporting individuals with ID/DD preferred (training provided)
  • Strong communication skills and a dependable, team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in varied community settings
  • CPR/First Aid and Medication Administration certification (or willingness to obtain)
