Job Title: Special Education Teacher – Cross Categorical (SPED)
Location: Leesburg, VA
Type: Contract
Shift & Schedule: Day Shift | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 2:45 PM
Pay Rate: $40 to $48/hr (Based on Experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher – Cross Categorical (SPED) to provide individualized instruction and support for students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will develop and implement effective educational programs while collaborating with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams to promote student success.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student needs.
Provide differentiated instruction to support students with a variety of disabilities.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational documentation.
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and parents to support student achievement.
Modify curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual learning goals.
Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations.
Required Qualifications
Valid Special Education Teaching license/certification.
Experience working with students in a Cross Categorical Special Education setting.
Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a public school setting.
Experience supporting students with diverse academic, behavioral, and developmental needs.
