We are seeking an experienced, board-certified Emergency Medicine physician to serve as Medical Director and Chair of the Emergency Services Department at a full-service critical access hospital on the North Carolina coast.

Position Overview

Full-time employment role combining direct clinical care with departmental leadership. The physician will practice in a collaborative environment while overseeing operations, staffing, quality, and performance improvement.

Key Details

• Approximately 20–25 bed Emergency Department with roughly 20,000–25,000 annual visits
• Leadership of a team consisting of several physicians and a larger group of advanced practice providers
• Telestroke support and affiliation with a nearby academic medical center’s Department of Emergency Medicine
• Employment model with hospital privileges
