Key Responsibilities
Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) or Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) with a Bachelor’s Degree preferred. An otherwise qualified candidate may also be currently enrolled in a course of study leading to CADC or LCADC, and Bachelor’s Degree with one year of experience working in a substance abuse treatment facility. A minimum of 270 documented hours of training in the clinical treatment of drug and/or alcohol abuse, working toward attaining the required supervised experience hours working in the field of addiction, and a minimum of 20 hours annually of continuing education in drug and/or alcohol abuse or prevention. Other combinations of experience and education that meets the requirements may be substituted.
- Conduct comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments and substance use evaluations
- Develop, implement, and update Individualized Treatment Plans (ITPs)
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling in accordance with program requirements
- Facilitate psychoeducational and relapse prevention groups
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with state and agency standards
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment interventions as needed
- Coordinate care with internal departments and external providers (e.g., probation/parole, medical, mental health)
- Participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Provide crisis intervention and support as necessary
- Ensure compliance with RCRP regulations and Department of Corrections (DOC) requirements
- Assist clients with reentry planning, including employment readiness, housing referrals, and community resources
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations
