Maintenance Director
At ALIYA, we're committed to providing a safe, comfortable, and clean environment for our residents. As the Maintenance Director, you'll be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall operation of the Maintenance Department, ensuring that our facility is well-maintained and up-to-code.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, and implement maintenance programs to ensure the facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner

• Coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments

• Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program and repair facility/resident property as necessary

• Supervise safety and fire protection programs, ensuring compliance with established regulations

• Ensure maintenance personnel follow established safety regulations and use proper equipment and supplies

• Coordinate daily housekeeping/laundry services with nursing services

• Perform administrative duties, including completing reports, evaluations, and studies

• Develop and participate in training programs for maintenance personnel

• Ensure confidentiality of resident care information and report any unauthorized disclosure

Qualifications:

• High school education or equivalent required

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a maintenance/environmental services related position

• Experience with long-term care facilities preferred

• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions

• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Ability to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and the general public

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday

• Must be able to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies

• Must be able to meet general health requirements, including a medical and physical examination

• Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facility

• Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum of 50 feet
