Ripening Reach Operator

FS Staffing is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Ripening Reach Operator for a food distribution center in Hartford, CT. This position is responsible for operating a stand-up reach truck to move, store, and replenish products within the ripening and warehouse areas. The ideal candidate has previous reach truck experience, works well in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to maintaining food safety, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Location: Hartford, CT

Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour

Shift: 1st Shift – 7:00 AM Start Time

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate a stand-up reach truck to transport, store, and retrieve palletized products in the ripening and warehouse areas.
• Move products to and from ripening rooms, staging areas, and storage locations.
• Load, unload, stock, and replenish inventory as directed.
• Use RF scanners or warehouse management systems to ensure accurate inventory tracking.
• Perform daily pre-shift inspections of material handling equipment and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Follow all food safety, GMP, OSHA, and company safety guidelines.
• Verify product quantities and inspect products for damage before moving or storing.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous stand-up reach truck experience required.
• Food distribution or warehouse experience preferred.
• Experience operating material handling equipment in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with RF scanners and warehouse management systems is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in warehouse and ripening room environments with varying temperatures.
• Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, and climb on and off equipment throughout the shift.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
