Pay: $29.00–$44.00/hour

Overview: Sterling Engineering is partnering with a leading manufacturer to hire a Maintenance Electrician Journeyman. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, upgrading, and installing electrical systems and industrial equipment throughout a manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate has strong industrial electrical experience, a Journeyman Electrician license, and the ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of production equipment while supporting continuous plant operations.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems and manufacturing equipment.
- Plan and install wiring, conduit, and power distribution for 480V three-phase, 240V, and single-phase electrical systems.
- Diagnose and repair motors, transformers, control panels, electrical components, and automated equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on production machinery and facility electrical systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, equipment manuals, and work orders.
- Support equipment installations, relocations, and facility improvement projects.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues on conveyors, CNC equipment, robots, welders, and other manufacturing machinery.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Order replacement parts and coordinate with vendors as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, PPE, forklift, and electrical safety requirements.
- Partner with production teams to support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Journeyman Electrician License or Industrial Journeyman License required.
- Associate degree from a technical school or equivalent experience preferred.
- 2–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience troubleshooting 480V three-phase electrical systems and power distribution.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Experience performing electrical calculations for transformers, conductors, breakers, and fusing.
- Working knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and preventative maintenance skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills:
- PLC troubleshooting and programming experience.
- Welding, cutting, brazing, or metal fabrication experience.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- CNC machinery or machining center maintenance.
- HVAC, refrigeration, air compressor, or compressed air system experience.
- Experience with plasma or laser cutting equipment.
- Forklift, scissor lift, or mobile equipment operation experience.
