Custodian Janitor

The Custodian Janitor plays a critical role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in a busy environment, typically within a large team of 8 or more. Reporting directly to the Custodial Supervisor, this position focuses on daily cleaning tasks, including specialized hospital cleaning requirements. The role requires proficient use of chemical cleaning agents, powered equipment, and manual tools to ensure all areas meet strict safety and hygiene standards. Passing a Federal Background/Security Check is mandatory for this position.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors using stripping, buffing, and carpet cleaning techniques
• Remove trash promptly and dispose of it according to safety guidelines
• Sanitize restrooms thoroughly to maintain health standards
• Dust and wipe surfaces to remove contaminants
• Adhere strictly to safety compliance protocols and regulations
• Operate cleaning equipment safely, including powered and manual tools
• Support hospital cleaning needs with attention to detail

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in custodial services
• Proficiency in various cleaning techniques and equipment operation
• Strong knowledge of safety compliance practices
• Exceptional attention to detail in all cleaning tasks
• Able to pass a Federal Background/Security Check
