Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Miami, Florida. This position will support a broad range of HR functions, including recruiting, onboarding, I-9 proccesing, FMLA, ADA, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, performance management, and employee engagement.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively partner with employees and managers at all levels. Strong knowledge of Florida employment practices and excellent communication skills are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation
- Ensure completion of new hire documentation, including Form I-9 and required employment forms
- Coordinate background checks, drug screenings, and other pre-employment requirements as applicable
- Partner with internal departments to ensure new employees have appropriate systems access, equipment, and resources
- Manage employee offboarding and termination processes
Employee Relations
- Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns
- Assist with employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance management
- Provide guidance to managers on HR best practices and company policies
- Promote a positive, professional, and inclusive workplace culture
HR Compliance
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files
- Assist with HR audits and compliance reporting
- Ensure employment documentation is properly completed and maintained
- Stay informed of changes to employment laws and HR best practices affecting Florida employers
Employee Engagement & Development
- Support employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives
- Coordinate employee events, company activities, and wellness programs
- Assist with performance review and employee development programs
- Analyze employee feedback and HR metrics to identify opportunities for improvement
HRIS & Reporting
- Maintain accurate employee information within the HRIS
- Process employee changes, including hires, promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and terminations
- Prepare HR reports and workforce analytics for management
- Conduct periodic audits of employee data to ensure accuracy
- Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
- Strong knowledge of recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and HR administration
- Working knowledge of federal and Florida employment laws and regulations
- Experience with HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred
- Experience working in a multi-location or rapidly growing organization
- Experience with HRIS platforms such as Workday, ADP, UKG, Paylocity, or Paycom
- Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employees
