Server/Cashier

As a Server/Cashier, you will represent Pimento Bay Kitchen and Marketplace by welcoming guests, efficiently serving food, and managing point-of-sale transactions in our dynamic environment. The ideal candidate excels in fast-paced settings, is dedicated to exceptional customer service, and embraces contributing to an engaging workplace each day.

Core Responsibilities

· Greet guests warmly and professionally.

· Accurately and promptly take food and beverage orders.

· Provide menu guidance and answer questions knowledgeably.

· Consistently deliver positive energy and hospitality.

Cash Handling

· Present checks and process payments accurately.

· Handle cash, credit card, and mobile transactions securely.

· Ensure cash is balanced at the beginning and end of each shift.

Order Management

· Enter all orders into the POS system with accuracy.

· Communicate efficiently with kitchen staff to ensure timely order preparation.

· Ensure prompt delivery of orders to minimize customer wait times.

Food & Beverage Handling

· Serve food and beverages promptly and accurately.

· Maintain proper portion control and consistent presentation according to standard operating procedures.(SOP).

Cleanliness & Sanitation

· Uphold a clean and organized service area at all times.

· Comply with all health and safety standards, including local food handling regulations.

Teamwork

· Restock supplies as needed and assist with inventory management.

· Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to guarantee timely service.

Multitasking

· Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.

· Prioritize customer needs, especially during busy periods.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENT/CERTIFICATION

· High school diploma or GED required.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

· At least one year of restaurant or customer service experience preferred.

· Experience with POS systems is advantageous.

SKILLS

· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

· Strong memory and attention to detail.

· Basic math proficiency for payment processing.

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.

· An interest in Caribbean culture and cuisine is desirable.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Ability to stand for extended periods.

· Capacity to lift “50 pounds as needed.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

· Valid Food Handlers Permit or ServSafe Certification preferred.
