A well-established television broadcasting company is seeking a Broadcast Engineer to support the technical systems that power live television operations. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working with broadcast technology, and ensuring reliable on-air performance.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair broadcast equipment, computers, servers, and network systems
- Support newsroom, production, and business users with hardware and software issues
- Ensure reliable operation of live and recorded broadcasts
- Perform preventative maintenance, equipment installations, and system upgrades
- Respond to technical issues during breaking news and other critical broadcasts
- Maintain accurate technical documentation
Qualifications
- 2+ years of broadcast engineering or related technical experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with Windows operating systems, servers, networking, and broadcast equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call support
Preferred
- Experience with RF transmitters and transmission systems
- Knowledge of television production workflows and IP-based broadcast technologies
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work around technical equipment and travel between facilities as needed
