Job Title: Equipment Technician Location: South Plainfield, NJ Type: Contract To Hire Compensation: $30-$32/hour Contractor Work Model: Onsite Hours: Monday through Friday (1st Shift)
Equipment Technician
Responsibilities:- Will support, sustain, manage equipment, and execute duties in compliance with continual business operation requirements.
- Maintain, repair and coordinate maintenance repairs for main process equipment, auxiliary equipment and optimize PM work to achieve the highest uptime with minimal production impact.
- Use schematics, hand tools, electrical gauges and common test equipment for calibration, diagnosis and repair or maintenance of equipment.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal operation of equipment is maintained.
- Maintain and control spare parts inventories for equipment.
- Perform work and task interactions using CMMS or equivalent system.
- Ensure compliance with all Safety & Security protocols including the storage, disposal of parts and chemicals.
- Support facilities and interact with external service providers.
- Work with low and high voltage applications up to 480 VAC.
- Able to perform tasks using self-breathing air system.
- Work in a cleanroom environment adhering to all safety and cleanroom protocols.
- Respond to after-hour unscheduled emergencies as needed.
- Mandatory availability during holidays and shut-down periods.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience with MOCVD systems.
- Experience with high vacuum systems.
- Strong people skills, which include effective communication, teamwork/collaboration and situation resolution.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Strong equipment troubleshooting skills.
- PC knowledge and use is a requirement.
- Experienced in EXCEL, WORD, and TEAMS.
- Able to read schematics, plumbing, and pneumatic diagrams.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and/ or carry minimum 50 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch/crawl daily.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods.
