Production Supervisor

Forge Resources Group, a leader in custom short-run steel forgings, is searching for a 1st Shift Production Supervisor at our DeKalb IL location.

The Production Supervisor will provide leadership and foster a productive and safe environment for all employees in the production facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage work schedules and production staff to maximize productivity, quality, and on-time delivery
• Coordinate shipments to outside vendors and customers
• Train, coach, and develop production staff
• Oversee process management and improvement to achieve company goals
• Identify challenges and bottlenecks and implement solutions
• Direct housekeeping and organization as it relates to all aspects of the production facility, i.e., materials, equipment, inventory, WIP
• Collaborate closely with all departments to optimize production workflow and shipping
• Track, monitor and procure consumable items, i.e. grinding discs, belts, shot, etc to reduce cost and eliminate waste
• Communicate maintenance needs on equipment repair and scheduling
• Maintain daily production records
• Drive continual and consistent quality control practices by ensuring quality processes are followed
• Identify, plan, and implement 5S projects in the department for safety and efficiency
• Effectively and positively represent the company goals to staff
• Adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures within the facility
• Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Frequent walking, standing, climbing stairs, and bending at waist
• Frequent climbing on/off a forklift
• Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous managerial experience in manufacturing, preferably in the metal forming or related industry
• Knowledge of production tools and equipment
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent skills with Microsoft office suite
