We are seeking a dedicated CMA to join our team for a fulltime temp to hire position. Mon.- Fri. 8am-5pm @ $15.00hr

Position Summary:
A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides clinical and administrative support to physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals. CMAs assist with patient care, medical procedures, documentation, scheduling, and office operations to ensure efficient delivery of healthcare services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations and treatments.
  • Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
  • Assist providers during examinations and minor medical procedures.
  • Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider and within state regulations.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests, specimen collection, and processing.
  • Conduct EKGs, phlebotomy, and other diagnostic procedures as assigned.
  • Educate patients regarding medications, treatments, and follow-up care.
  • Maintain exam rooms and ensure adequate medical supplies are available.
  • Follow infection control and safety procedures.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars.
  • Verify insurance information and obtain necessary authorizations.
  • Maintain accurate patient medical records and documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and coordinate referrals.
  • Process forms, prescriptions, and medical correspondence.
  • Handle patient check-in and check-out procedures as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program required.
  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential through AAMA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Strong customer service and patient care skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity required for clinical procedures and equipment operation.
  • Ability to work in a clinical environment with exposure to infectious disease
