About the Role:
A To B Communications LLC is looking for a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team in Berlin, CT. This is a hands-on technical role where you'll play a key part in delivering reliable, high-quality communications infrastructure for our clients. If you're passionate about fiber optics, low voltage systems, and doing the job right the first time, we want to hear from you.


Responsibilities:
  • Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables (single-mode) in commercial and industrial environments
  • Run and terminate low voltage cabling including fiber
  • Perform OTDR testing, fiber splicing, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings on job sites
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and job site safety standards in compliance with industry regulations
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in low voltage cabling and/or fiber optic installation
  • Proficiency in fiber splicing, termination, and OTDR/light meter testing
  • Experience with structured cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A) and cable management
  • Equivalent low voltage/fiber certification preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints, floor plans, and technical documentation
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a professional work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various job site conditions
