About the Role
Flying Food Group is seeking a proactive and safety-focused Employee Safety Supervisor to lead and support our workplace safety initiatives at our JFK Airport facility. This position plays a vital role in creating and maintaining a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.
The ideal candidate is an organized leader who enjoys training employees, analyzing safety trends, investigating incidents, and partnering with operations to reduce workplace injuries and improve overall safety performance.
Responsibilities
• Lead, manage, and continuously improve the facility's safety program
• Conduct new hire and ongoing safety training for employees
• Promote compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
• Lead an employee-driven Safety Committee and encourage employee engagement
• Partner with the Corporate Safety Manager and local leadership team on safety initiatives
• Conduct incident investigations and perform root cause analyses
• Maintain accurate safety records, documentation, and regulatory reporting
• Track, analyze, and report weekly safety metrics and trends
• Identify opportunities to reduce workplace injuries and improve safety performance
• Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Conduct routine facility inspections and safety audits
• Ensure all employees understand and follow safe work practices
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Associate's degree with a minimum of 3 years of safety experience or High School Diploma/GED with at least 5 years of relevant safety experience
• Experience leading workplace safety programs and employee training
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
• Spanish bilingual skills are a plus
