SUMMARY: Sells parts to all customers, over the counter or by phone. Also provides support to technicians in the shop to ensure that the correct parts are ordered and billed out appropriately.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned and are to be considered another responsibility of employment as a Shipping and Receiving Administrator at River’s Truck Center, Inc.

· Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting the required parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.

· Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.

· Pull and fill orders from stock.

· Notifies the parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.

· Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary.

· Notifies the service team and/or the customer when special ordered parts have been received.

· Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.

· Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified.

· Maintains professional appearance.

· Operates forklift or hand truck to pull parts and/or accomplish shipping/receiving duties.

· Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins.

· Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.

· Engages with customers, vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.

· Performs other related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Computer literacy; Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, data entry
  • Ability to enter data efficiently, timely and correctly to meet deadlines
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Well-developed verbal, listening, and written communications skills
  • Ability to work independently or as a team player
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and manner
  • Ability to contend with a wide variety of people on various issues
  • Ability to work in a busy office with constant interruptions
  • 1-3 years previous experience in an office environment

  • On occasion may lift items weighing 100 pounds
