Job Description
Position Title: School Transportation Bus Driver
Hours/Shift: 20 + hours/week during the school year (mostly morning/afternoon school hours, but some hours may be available for events during evenings and weekends)
Responsibilities:
%CF; Safely transport high school and elementary students to and from school, or school-related activities, following a set route and schedule.
%CF; Ensure the safety and well-being of students during transportation.
%CF; Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure it is in good working condition.
%CF; Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
%CF; Maintain a clean and organized bus interior.
%CF; Commitment to promoting the mission-centered work of the schools in daily interactions with students, coworkers, parents, and members of the community.
Qualifications:
%CF; Maintain a valid State of Michigan CDL.
Requirements:
%CF; Ability to provide positive communication to students and parents.
%CF; Ability to work a flexible schedule.
%CF; Complete the required training for school bus drivers
%CF; Pass a background check, drug screening, and DOT physical. Submit to random drug and alcohol tests and in-vehicle monitoring to ensure safe driving
Paid training starts at $21.00/hr. Part-time employee health benefits are available.
Position is eligible for current part-time employee tuition discount of 33% after one year of service for students attending Catholic Central High School or West Catholic High School.

Grand Rapids Catholic Secondary Schools Transportation department is a part of the Diocese of Grand Rapids. The Transportation department provides transportation to students attending our high schools (Catholic Central and West Catholic) and several of our elementary schools in the greater Grand Rapids area.
